Trainees will be able to work with clients who have heart disease and use RPM. At the end of the badge, trainees will be able to do the following:
- Define various heart diseases
- Explain risk factors for common heart disease types
- Explain the basic diagnoses/symptoms of various heart diseases
- Analyze basics of the management of how heart disease
- Explain various diagnostic tests
- Analyze medications typically administered for heart disease (blood pressure meds; cholesterol-lowering meds; blood thinners)
- Be able to explain the purpose of each medication
- Compare and contrast side effects of common medications
- Evaluate a health chart of a patient with heart disease
- Help patient with vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation levels
- Speak to patient about their progress in maintaining health/educate them on
- Lifestyle changes
- Healthy eating
- Exercise
- Smoking cessation
- Enter data into RPM for monitoring a patient with heart disease (with DMP)
- Evaluate DMP data of a patient with heart disease (at critical junctions)
- Speak to physician or nurse practitioner about patient’s progress when needed
